Kelaniya is situated approximately 7km east of Colombo along the Colombo – Kandy road. Kelaniya is one of the main cities of the Gampaha district which is located towards the south of the Colombo district.

Kelaniya Raja MahaViharaya is renowned as a sacred place where Lord Buddha and 500 Arahats once visited on the Vesak Day of the Buddha era 2531 as per the invitation of King Maniakkhika. 2.Water World Kelaniya
